I am using Ubuntu 9.1 netbook remix. I have a HP mini 2140 with 2 Gb RAM and I could not get wireless to work with it. The driver that comes with the distro doesn't seem to work.

This is my first Linux install.

I searched and found a fix, which was to install hybrid-portsrc-x86_32-v5.10.91.9.3, the driver for this netbook, I guess.

Every time a kernel upgrade gets installed I have to reinstall the wireless driver, although I black listed (I thought) changes.

I don't know where to go to from here to get the wireless permanently installed
