Video4Linux and /dev/video0 problem

For some reason almost every one of my programs can't find my HP Webcam-101 that is built into my laptop. The only program that can use it is Skype, and it even tells me that my webcam is at /dev/video0.

I need my webcam to work for my other applications too, but when I try running camorama, or zoneminder, I get error messages saying that /dev/video0 cannot be found.

Can somebody please help me make these programs work with my /dev/video0 webcam?
