I've got a dual boot Jackal/XP.

My XP is fried and I need to boot into Windows in safe mode, but the process I go through to start up either operating system won't let me because of the screen that comes up asking me to pick an OS. There is never an option to hit a key to get me into the windows setup. Maybe this is more of a windows question that I perceive, but has anyone run into this problem before on startup? I can hit F8 all day and get nothing.

I've already mounted my windows partition so I can access all my files, but I really need to be IN windows IN safe mode more than anything else eight now.

I haven't had this problem before. Immediately after I choose Windows, I repeatedly press F8 until the Windows boot-up options appear.

Can you boot into Windows normally? As I recall, you can run msconfig, and that has an option to reboot into Safe Mode.
