Hi all!

I'm hoping to start a thread to name some games that need little or no mouse control. The reason is that I like to play games on my laptop, but I'm often on the go and can't plug in a usb mouse. I'm guessing with so many other lappies out there, there's got to be some similar gamers to myself? As a result I end up playing alot of puzzle or turn based games. I would like to play some more action packed games but most require a mouse.

Any ideas? PS: Native games (no wine) preferred.

Thanks in advance!

To start out, I'll name one good one I've found: Egoboo

Egoboo is a 3d Zelda / nethack like dungeon crawler.

MUD games (typing only). See ironrealms for a good maker of muds, and mudlet for a good client

Console emulation would be your best bet. There are so many great games for NES, SNES, Genesis, GB(A) etc.

Crazy as it sounds, I actually play Urban Terror without a mouse if I'm in the crapper. Aim may not be as good, but it works.

Hope you're talking about aim in the game :O

Immature comments aside, I recommend emulation for sure. Mupen64plus, Zsnes, etc. are endless hours of entertainment :) Also Frozen Bubble can be addicting too :D

I just installed Chromium-BSU on my laptop:
http://chromium-bsu.sourceforge.net/
I can control it pretty well with the touch-pad and the buttons below the touch-pad on the laptop. The graphics requirements are not very high either. My laptop has intel 945GM graphics and the game plays fine. The graphics quality is adjustable in the game also.

Depends what game we're talking about. You can find a lot in Ubuntu's Package Manager. And you can add Playdeb to your manager to get more games. http://www.playdeb.net/welcome/

Other may require more work if they're only available as source codes etc.

How about Freedoom / Prboom - a port of the old school shooter. Doom was originally played with no mouse so it still works great without it :)
