Hi!

I've got 5.10 installed and want to upgrade Xorg, Mesa and the kernel to "recent" versions in order get open-source(!) 3D-accereration for a ATi RV350-card running.
I think the versions of drapper should be recent enough. But drapper isn't really stable enough, to risc a complete update, is it?

Can I combine drapper-packages with a standard 5.10 system?
What lines are necessary for /etc/apt/sources.list, and (if necessary) what apt-pinning should I set?
Thanks for some hints.

Please no hints for installing fglrx!
I need the open-source drivers because of S3-suspend problems in conjunction with my mb/AGP-module/graphics-card.

Regards

no - you would also have to update init and udev - which turns out to be most of the core system

Thanks!
Yes, I forgot about udev and stuff.

And Dapper isn't really stable, yet?
kernel- and udev-upgrading isn't difficult as I recognizred from a debian-system. But ugrading to (moduar) Xorg 7.0 could break everything. Hmmm... :-k
