I've installed Flight 4 and sun's jdk 1.5.06 on my computer. But there is something wrong with the memory handling, because the viritual machine fails. Some stupid outoff memory exception.. Can you please fix this in the next release.. Want to use Xgl with JBuilder 2006..

Easier to switch windows..
I want to say sorry about using the f word.. But i can't remove/edit it in my thread..
I have removed it in my post's..

Ubuntu Rules....

AFAIK little can the Ubuntu devs do about Sun's VM, as it is closed source and propietary, if you want it fixing you should probably talk to Sun, or use GCJ which works quite well for me, using Eclipse.

PS: You should really try not to swear on your threads ;)

I know that sun Java i a closed source. But I read somwhere that Java Virtual Machine uses contiguous memory.. That either the gcc ore the kernel is something wrong with..

PS: I'll keep the swearing down..

Please provide more details. From your message it is really not clear what problem you are experiencing.
P.S. I'm using Java 5 and 6 without any memory problems.

mmm, odd... I am also using dapper and have install JDK...... I dun have any problems with it... I am even use it to program my Final Year Project.... Have u tried to use another IDE??? like Netbeans.. or it happens in every Java app u run on it??? since u said u want the xgl and JBuilder....... and i would suggest you turn off teh xgl anyway... as I dun find it stable enough....

I currently on my Final project too. But have to use JBuilder.. Because I am constrained by the CVS server we use...

A CVS server that only supports JBuilder? I don't understand that one.

Regarding the "out of memory exception" - if the JBuilder startup script specifies that the JVM restrict its memory usage then you'll sometimes see errors like that.

Have you resolved this now? Or can you post more detailed information?
