Whats this!? A problem!?

So I've been playing Urban Terror for about a month or so, and every time I play it, eventually the game goes into windowed mode or a black screen, and I cant do anything. It usually lasts about 20 seconds, but I play urban terror quite a bit and Id like to know how to fix this. So if anybody knows what the problem is, please tell me how to fix it! :-(

Does it happen precisely the same time? If so try disable screensaver and Power manager.

While AI may actually be correct I think the problem could be compiz related.

If AI's suggestion does not work follow these steps:

You are most likely running compiz in the background. There are a number of threads on this issue in the forums:

However the problem essentially boils down to:

you are running compiz (fancy desktop effects)

Click applications -> add/remove -> type in "compiz fusion icon" select the program and install it.

Now before you play urbanterror:

Click applications -> system tools -> compiz fusion icon -> the compiz icon should load up in the top taskbar.

From there

Right click the icon -> select window manager -> select metacity and you are good to play urban terror without any minimizing.

If you want compiz back after, just right click the icon -> select window manager -> select compiz -> right click the icon again -> reload window manager

And you're done.
