I am booting from the Live CD. I have tried all kernel parameters and it does not help.
This is what happens:
The Desktop shows up.
~4 seconds pass.
The screen blanks.
A loading bar screen comes up.
Repeat from 2 to 4.
Why is this happening? I can not directly install Ubuntu yet as I have to verify that my /home content will be safe during the install (I have Debian Lenny installed, currently).
