lost sound when upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10

I upgraded my mythbuntu box from 9.04 to 9.10. I use xine for my video player. I have sound on live tv but when i play a video from media libary i have no sound at all.I never created any storage groups

Go to desktop and check that volume is not muted and that the relevant sound type (centre, left, right) is turned up, when playing a video

The problem lies in the output of audio. I use digital out for my sound.If i use the line out jack i have sound. Is there a setting somewhere for when playing videos to use digital audio?
