Are you really using Ubuntu 4.10?

If you are, then all the bumping in the world will not help you. Listen to what others have said in that thread. Try a newer version of Ubuntu.

Probably some unintended connection with the threads I've seen recently that talk about 9.1 - AFAIK there wasn't a release in January!
