Hey does anyone know if you can install windows in a virtual machine on ubuntu and then use a Hex editor like maybe "scanmem" thats on linux to change the hex values in a program running inside of the virtual machine?

Hello,

I am sure there are utilities that can do that from inside windows.. The approach of doing it from the host machine seems very difficult!!
Can you explain why you need this?

Download a hex editor for Windows and then load it into Windows VM. You are then good to go editing the program in the Windows environment.

I don't remember the names of such editors as I've been away too long. See what you think of this one:
