Fellows,
I've tryed to follow all guides or sugestion previously posted in the forum, but nothing seemed to work. I have a notebook HP Pavilion ZV6000 and before buying it, I didn't know that ATI was so terrible to configure. If I knew that it would give me so much trouble to configure DRI, I would buy another notebook.
Like I told before, I tryed to follow all the howtos and faqs and have installed fresh ubuntu breezy thousand times. I tryed to configure the 8.16.xx drives, the 8.20.xx drives and even tryed to upgrade to Dapper flight4 and install the drivers, but everytime I try to enable DRI, my screen crashes. To be more specific, when the x server tries to go up, my screen gets all black and the OS freezes.:(
I don't remember where I saw this information, but I read that this was a problem between ATI drivers and XORG (I believe that I read that in ATI unnoficial forums... I guess that is www.rage3d.com... or something like that... )
So, I ask you all if someone heard that it is an issue between ATI driver and XORG, or if someone has configured the ATI 200M with ubuntu, in a hp pavilion zv6000. If not, I would like if someone knows or has this problem too. Any informations are welcome.
Now I'm using Ubuntu 5.10 (breezy) with vesa configured. ;)
