OS: Ubuntu 64 bit
Monitor: Acer X183H
Graphics Cards: 7800 GT OC
I tried Administration->Hardware Drivers
Then I activated the driver "NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (version 185)" which was recommended.
I rebooted the computer. The last thing I see is the ubuntu symbol and then everything was black. I tried Alt-Ctrl-F1 several times and nothing happened. So I reinstalled the OS since I had just installed it.
I downloaded 190.42 NVIDIA driver off the NVIDIA site and the same thing happened.
I changed the OS to Ubuntu 32 bit. Same result.
I am pretty new to linux in general so this is all pretty confusing for me.
The reason I want to improve the graphics card is my Acer X183H has a resolution of
1366 by 768 and I want to get my computer to display that. Thanks.
Edit: I switched the monitor so I don't think it's the monitor.
