hello

You have a complete wet-behind-the-ears newbee here.

Set up is a dual boot (with XP Pro) Dell desktop wired to the wrt54g (v 1.1) then to internet. On the wireless side, have a Dell laptop and a Canon wireless capable printer.

The system works fine on XP. On Ubuntu, only have internet connectivity.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

so you are trying to access your wireless device from the wired one?

thanks for the response, AFI420!

this is my goal. while running karmic on the desktop 1) access the laptop from the desktop, 2) access the wireless Canon printer from both the laptop and desktop and 3) have internet access from laptop and desktop. when running xp on the desktop, this all works well, but when i boot up with karmic on the desktop, all i can access is the internet from only the desktop. in other words, the wired part of the wrt54g - wire from the desktop to the wrt54g and wire out to the internet connection but the wireless part of the wrt54g doesn't seem to be working in that access to the laptop and the printer is not possible.

hope this clarifies?
