Video newbie

I am newbie. I have some knowledge in Device drivers and modules. Now i am going to do research on how this web cam is working.for that whaT I HAVE TO DO?Is there any tutorial to know how webcam is working. How it is capturing?Please help me

Install the program "Cheese" from the package manager (Software Centre in Karmic, Add/Remove Programs in Jaunty and below)

Cheese will display the image from your webcam, so you can see if it's working.

No my webcam is working fine here. It has zc0301 module and its creative webcam. I know what are he drivers needed. But i want to know how it is capturing the image and how it is stored in memory and how it is displayed.
