Firstly I know this is a convoluted way of doing things when theres a perfectly good gui to do it for me but it's always nice to know how in case it breaks or for some reason I want to look cool :p

I would like to be able to use a command line interface to connect and disconnect my USB 3g card, also but not as important wifi connections. My card works perfectly in Karmic using network manager's gui interface I just want to know how to control it from a command. I realise I could use wvdial to do it but seeing as I already have a working way to connect I would prefer to just control that from a command line.

I have done abit of reading but mostly I get help threads on the gui or people having trouble with a particular modem if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks
