Proxy help for gtalk?

I know there has already been discussion about using gtalk, so please don't flame me. I've already got Pidgin, Empathy, Kopete etc running so please don't tell me about anything other than gtalk. Anyway,

I've gotten the gui to run fully on gtalk but it still gives me an authentication error. Is there a proxy I can enter to fix this?

EDIT: fixed by updating Wine, now the chat windows don't show up properly. oh well..
