I tried to upload a very small GIF animation for my avatar. It is like 5 frames, two colours (black and white) and it is 1.12KB. (Well, it says thats the size, but it also says size on disk is 4KB).

Is there any way you could press a switch to have that rule deleted?

If not, its perfectly ok, since I go through avatars fast anyway, so I could just make another non animated one.

We've recently disabled animated avatars on the forums for everyone (although, some people may be grandfathered in currently.)

We'll take your request under consideration - but for the time being, no animated avatars, sorry!

I just tried to use my own one that I just made and it didn't let me.

I think that you should allow animated avatars, but have an option for users not to see it, like have an alternate avatar.

By making it use an avatar from another server it will copy that to the UF.org servers.
