those site where free back in dec. now they are paid services. that is why the only way is the one on the link i gave, and i think they will start charging later on so better try it now.

once you pay that dc unlocker you will get 10 unlock code try. no thanks, id rather buy another modem with different network on it.

maybe next time, well just buy 2nd hand unlocked modem.

unlocking your huawei (mines e1550), use at your own risk, it will void your warranty.

you will need a windows pc, though you will use it for one time only, havent tried on wine. you can go to internet cafe if needed.

ask for unlock code here while someone is offering it for free, most site that offers this services is now for paid service. so take advantage for the free offer.

while at there windows pc, configure your network to 3g preferred (not 3g only). so it can utilise 3g while it will use 2g if in case 3g signal is not available.

press detect and put the unlock code.
your modem is now unlocked and you can use different sim.

just create a different Mobile Broadband profile for each different sim. and dont forget to just use "pap" only in the ppp network configurations.

i was able to get my unlock code somewhere else ,though on the site given by kilosan he was able to provide me with the unlock code for my friends USB modem, as far as i remember i got mine from a Dhaka website or something.. then to set-up ubuntu, i just followed what type of network/sim i'll be using (Globe if you have a Globe sim..) once you plugged-in the modem (sun usb modem with globe sim) a pop-up box will ask for it's unlock code and you will be given 10 chances to key in your unlock code.. and voila!.. my Sun USB modem is unlocked and I can now use different sim on my SUN usb modem.

you have to create a new connection or profile for the new/different sim card.

but if the one being ask about is the "keyring" thing, just leave it blank and use "always allow" option.

Yes, new Globe Tattoos packaged in little red boxes cannot be unlocked anymore (unless you change its firmware but that's another story).

Of course, everybody has this option to look for free unlockers. In my case kasi, I paid for my unlocker so I'm just trying to recover it. :)

I think the flashing number is used if you "flash" the modem. Flashing means changing the software inside the modem parang palitang ang laman ng RAM.

Unlocking the old Smartbro (E1553 white color) is easier just put the unlock code, yes tattoo sucks

Globe has released new e1552 / e1553 with a NEW FIRMWARE that can not be unlocked. If you used smart/sun sim and it would ask for a code, it may mean that your purchased dongle was an OLD STOCK.

i recently bought a globe tattoo bband dongle...problem is i cant seem to find an unlocking tool for it...

it seems like its not uncrackable well not anymore...

can anyone of you guys help me with my attempt to unlock it...

its an e1552 model...

So mahirap pala talagang magconnect sa Globe Tattoo Prepaid kit pag ubuntu!?? Hirap naman! Try ko ngang magtawag sa Globe haha tapos para contri ko na rin post ko dito kung maturuan nila ako. Kaso matagal pa ako maginstall ng Macbuntu sa Sony Viao kaya baka matagal ko pang matawag sa Globe yun baka may instructions kasi sila how to install globe prepaid kit sa ubuntu.

hindi talaga makakatulong kung hindi mo rin kabisado kalikutin ang network manager ni ubuntu. yung nasa windows installer ni globe ang dial-in number is *99***1# pero sa linux *99#... di nag wwork yung una sa ubuntu and i wonder why.

si macbuntu, ubuntu (http://www.webupd8.org/2010/09/make-ubuntu-look-like-mac-osx-in.html) din yan na dinamitan mo lang. kanya kanyang trip lang din yan. pa-cool... pero i encourage na vanilla ubuntu gamitin natin kasi parang kinahihiya natin itsura ni ubuntu. ayaw ko naman sabihin na trying hard ka na mac kunwari.
