Ubuntu 8.04LTS 64 bit on Dell PowerEdge R710

I'm planning on running Ubuntu 8.04 Server LTS 64bit on Dell PowerEdge R710 server.

The server spec is :
Intel Xeon X5550, 2.66Ghz, 8M Cache, 1333Mhz Mem
12GB(3x4GB) RDIMM
146GB 15K Raid 1

Anybody know if this server will be compatible with Ubuntu 8.04 LTS 64bit? Any problems you've seen??

This will be the main MySQL server.
Any inputs will be greatly appreciated!!!

While I've not used an R710, I have ran various versions of Ubuntu on a PE 2950 III with no issues. The RAID controllers are all recognized, as are everything else. I don't forsee you running into any issues.

Check the Ubuntu Validated Hardware (http://webapps.ubuntu.com/certification/list/?category=Server) list. The Dell R710 is listed as "Compatible".
