Dear Forum,

I've a USB HDD for travelling with Karmic, Evolution, Putty, Filezilla and Firefox. This allows me to check email and access my home server without leaving traces on the host machine (e.g. at client site, in hotel...).

When I'm at home, it is a pain to have to boot from the USB HDD to use the files.

I'd like to start a virtual machine that runs my HDD as an Application on a Windows or Linux host.

I've tried
PortableUbuntu (http://portableubuntu.demonccc.com.ar) no USB support
Virtual Box (www.sun.com) supports USB but I can't get it to boot from the USB

Any ideas?

Richard

Just finished testing Karmic on Virtual box. This is so slow that I quit the install after 1 hour. Waste of time.
