I purchased a Wild Dog a while back from system76 but found out today that it isn't everything I need for a surveillance computer. It lacked a common port that would enable me to control a pan/tilt/zoom camera.

BlueCherry.net is an Pro-Ubuntu Survelence internet store. They sell everything but the computers. So I bought a system76 wild dog to complete the circle. But apparently System76 and Bluecherry haven't been in touch with each other. I found this a little discouraging considering both run Ubuntu centered companies.

In the close future I hope to see some cross-marketing between the companys. A small section and a banner would suffice. I think Pro-Ubuntu companies could take a huge part of the surveillance market. But there needs to be a more streamlined approach to getting a complete system.

Big Fan of both companies.

I imagine it's a serial port. The Wild Dog may have serial port headers but I don't believe it has a built-in serial port.

On a side note we did attempt to contact System 76 but they didn't seem interested.

Thanks

I use one to connect to my garmin etrex & it works fine.
I got mine from Purple Computing a few years ago but I don't think
they're around anymore.

Yup he could have if the USB -> RS485 was generic enough to be supported.
