I am thinking of switching from ATT DSL to Comcast. Can I set up the comcast self-installation package (i know the CDs won't work, course) with linux, or do I need a windows box? If I can set it up with linux, are there any up to date guides out there?

Thanks for any help.

Several years ago, people were reporting difficulty with initializing new Comcast accounts in Linux, but I haven't heard anything on that since. With very few exceptions, you should be able to simply plug and go.

I use Comcast with two Ubuntu computers and don't have a problem. Are you using a router as well or just the cable modem?
