one last piece to solve in my quest to move over to ubuntu... I cannot seem to use f-spot to download the videos / movies from my camera card... it only imports the pictures...
2- I cannot name the folders I want it to go into... it decides that for me...

I want a piece of software I can use to download movies and pictures and set the folders as I wish. I am previously using canon zoombrowser for my canon cameras..

I don't use any software at all, I have a simple Casio Exilim Z850 which takes photos in JPG and videos in AVI format. The camera came with a docking/recharge unit which also has a USB cable. I simple plug the USB into my PC and Ubuntu mounts the SD card as if it were a memory stick. I then open the folder and move across any pictures/videos that I want into my own file structure. To activate the mounting process I simply press a button on the recharge unit that says USB, perhaps your camera has a similar option.
