dell/ubuntu netbook remix

Hello, Just a couple of questions please.
I purchased The Dell Mini10v with the dell/ubuntu OS netbook remix 8.04 I am pleased with it But i wanted to try 9.10 netbook remix I have a portable cd rom so i did a clean install and the system was a mess , Just totally unusable some thing were unable to scroll, tabs when trying to click on one that was not highlighted would jump back to the first one so i could never get wireless working .
Anyway i placed my dell/ubuntu version back on and everything works fine.
My question is how long will dell/ubuntu give updates for this version and will they offer a dell/ubuntu upgrade to a future release such as the next LTS which I belive is 10.4.
I would imagine that after some time this version of dell/ubuntu 8.04 netbook remix will not be supported or does dell think that by that time the dell mini10v wont last that long and mke us buy another mini I really enjoy the mini 10v for many reasons .
Sorry for the long post I hope somone has the answers to my questions

I suppose 8.04 will be supported by Dell at least as long as the official support by Canonical lasts, which is untill June 2011.
