I was getting a few errors after the 9.10 install and rather than try to troubleshoot the issue, I decided to just do a reinstall, which seemed quicker. but I can't get the system to recognize the rw cd. It rev's up then revs down. Then revs up then revs down, it keeps doing that indefinitely. If I restart the computer with the cd in, I get a blank screen until I hit eject. I put a dvd in and it seems to keep trying to read it indefinitely.

I've tried a few cd's and even the cd I used to install Ubuntu last doesn't work.

Some music cd's seem to work, others don't. Argh. So frustrating.

If it did that trying to boot a liveCD there's only three things I can think of.

1) Hardware, maybe just a dirty LED in the CD drive.

2) A setting in bios got changed, doesn't sound like it though.

3) The liveCD you're using is bad.

I've used more than one disk. It's weird, some audio discs work others don't. Nothing else works, but I wonder if it's because my install is hosed. When I play videos from Miro they all look blue. The controls in you tube videos don't work, and I get errors when I try to install new updates.

Yes.

My computer should still be under warranty. What is your advice?
