In the user's public profile you can click on Show All Statistics, then Find all threads started by the user.

If you find a duplicate use the http://ubuntuforums.org/images/buttons/report.gif button to report it. The staff will close it (or merge the threads).

Problem is, I don't think it was by the same user, but google is unhelpful in clearing my deja vu, seems I'll be stuck with it forever. It had the exact same shape (in its text) as another thread with the exact same name, hence the deja vu. I don't know anymore though, life is being crazy to me.
