Hi all. I have finally managed to install Karmic x86 on my 2009 (NVIDIA) Mac mini. Once I installed it, I just did a system update, and it now shuts down fine.

However, I got two Desktop freezes earlier, and it also hung at a COMPLETELY black screen, after I'd logged out, once. I *would* like to draw your attention to the fact that installing **& updating** 9.10 x86 on a 2009 Mac mini, fixes the shutdown but *NOT* the reboot issue - made me VERY happy.

Here is my syslog:

Can you describe what you did to get Ubuntu working on your second generation Mac Mini? It might be very helpful for other people.

As described above, I simply installed the x86 Karmic, and then downloaded and installed all the updates using update manager. It will NOT reboot, but it WILL shut down.
