Hi People I have a Dell Demension 2400, with 256mb ram...

the book says it can have a total of 1GB ram (2 ram slots)

Standard Memory: 128, 256, or 512MB removable

and after booting into windows to run the crucial tool
the Crucial web site states a total of 2GB ram.

for the dell experts whats the right answer, who is right :)
as I would hate to buy 2 1GB sticks of ram only to find the truth was the system could only handle 2 512mb sticks of ram.

My head tells me the book is right, but the book was created before the A05 bios?

I am running bios A05, according to the dell site this is the latest bios.

Much thanks

You could always ask Dell for confirmation....
