This was raised last RP but there was no final decision as to have a Monthly LoCo Meet or not.
Mas maganda siguro dito na i-decide.
Have your say, yes or no, and reason to have it or not.

A friendly meet like what the guys from bulacan did is fine. But i think if its an official monthly meeting, i think its not possible.
But i would agree on an official monthly meeting online thru an irc or other medium, inviting other ubuntu philippines groups from friendster, facebook, my space, it-forums.

Isang nakita ko nung RP, npaka small group palang natin in terms of common interest (disregarding Ubuntu :P)
Like how reneorense is onto accesibility, and jhformosojr with health, jef with photography in general, etc.
Personaly, I'm into gaming and multimedia. So far, wala pa akong namemeet via forums or irc from our LoCo na same yung interest like mine.
In terms of advocacy, sa akin, yun nga... promote GNU/Linux as gaming platform, not just some hackers system.
Until we get more people into our LoCo, Ubuntu is the only thing we have in common. :(

Wow, i think this is considered as a meeting already.
Examples:
One topic is, are we contented to be just a hobby group like those comics enthusiast during the 80's?. Or we want to be able to establish a large foundation capable of helping I.T. matters in our country, do everyone agrees? lets vote it? something like that.
Another topic is for the group to be productive, they need more members, by uniting all the ubuntu phils groups, or making centralized information, example if there is release party, all ubuntu philippines group from different social networks and phil i.t. forums will be notified.
Do we need a trust fund? members will donate small amounts, so during release party there is a fund to use to pay for a proper venue, promotion, freebies and food for the guest, and if we are large enough, we could attract media attention. All of this in the presence of the ubuntu-ph members from different location.
One voice on who to vote in the 2010 elelctions, that is pro-foss.
And to talk about what to talk about, agendas, goals etc.
This is just an examples.^

Honestly, this type of brainstorming discussion is best done in a wave entry using Google Wave ;-)

A question about google wave,
Is the invitation temporary? because it can restrict/discourage some users to join.
Do we have a room for ubuntu ph?

Google wave is the way to go but because its still in beta, it can restrict the userbase due to invitational process.
Sino po yung mga guys from Bulacan po?
You guys, from ubuntu users of bulacan thread, is it just a friendly meet or more beyond that, like setting of goals and agendas.
Because based on experience, if a community without goals and productivity will just lead to stagnation and eventually will lead to lost of interest that will result to inactivity.

Gumagawa ka din ba ng mga games? Kahit small/retro/mini games lang...
Kasi more ako sa gaming (mas ok sakin online or DS Emulation)/multimedia (listening/remixing songs)
Emulation? Okay din sa kin yun. Have you tried playing with Joysticks -- gaya ng binebenta sa CDR King?

@creek23
Lahat ng games created on those are wine-compatible, by the way. So far on hiatus ako sa game creation, aral pa ako linux scripting e....;)
Back when I was a XP user *talagang passive:p*, sarap maglaro ng Devil May Cry 3 sa PC dahil sa joystick.
@all
paki invite na rin po ako sa google wave, my account is jaceleon@G.ho.st .

Hi! I mentioned the last release party to our IT director and manager and they're willing to host any Ubuntu-PH activity here in IRRI -- next release party or whatever meeting.
