if anyone is running karmic on a dual nehalem based mac pro and has the proprietary nvidia drivers working (single monitor), could he/she please tell me how it was done.
i can install the drivers and the modules build, but won't load.

SOLVED:
installed envy
run it in text mode
select the recommended 1.85 version
load the newly compiled nvidia module <sudo modprobe nvidia>
startx
