zsnes sound doesnt work

i installed zsnes to download some games =)
but the sound isnt working
and a game without sound sucks >_<!
any idea of how to configure it?

Try killing esd. Could also be a problem with MIDI.

Forgive my complete lack of understanding, but what is esd and how do I kill it? (I, also, am experiencing a lack of sound in zsnes)

AKA software mixing. No guaranteeing it'll work for you tho'.

ESD will eventually be replaced by Polypaudio.
