I'm thinking of buying a Dell Mini 10v with ubuntu for use in Canada and Austria. My husband is an academic who is going to be doing some research in Vienna next year. The note-book will be used for word processing and emails only, so there is no need for anything very powerful.
Does anyone know if the mini-10 v has the switch for 220v enabling use with a plug adaptor in Austria?
Is there anything else I should beware of?

Hi Jane,
I have no idea unfortunately whether the mini 10v has a switch for 220v ( how could I find that out? ) I got a mini 10 two weeks ago as a present and really love it.
I installed Ubuntu Karmic Netbook Remix on it. Overall I really like it. I would recommend getting the solid state drive and the bigger battery. The machine boots in 10-15 seconds and gets 6 hrs of battery life with constant use. It's really remarkable. I love it.
Hope this was helpful!
Ben

Hi Benanzo. I didn't realise anyone had replied to this. Thanks for your info. I've gone and bought one anyway and it should be delivered any day now. I chose the larger battery. I'll find out if I can convert to 220v when it arrives!

I'm adding this in case anyone else has the same query. According to the handbook with the mini10 v the transformer will work with any power input worldwide. This is different to other laptops and pcs I've used, where there was a 110/220 v switch either on the case or inside the tower.
