Hi

When I was running Ubuntu 5.04 I installed the game Darwinia and enjoyed playing on it.

When it can to upgrade I decided to use a new HDD and do a fresh install on it. I have now tried to install darwinia and after a sucessful installation when I try to run it I get the following error:

./lib/darwinia.bin.x86: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

There must have been some change between hoary and breezy to cause this pbm - any one now what may have changed or how to fix the issue (apart from going back to Hoary that is)

Would love to get it working as it's a great answer to (but you can't play 3d games in linux)

Thanks
Hobbit

do a search in Synaptic to see if the missing lib file is available

This is why I love ubuntu - the community. Living proof of the ubunutu philosophy

I had a problem.... I posted a question

3 minutes later Brynster replied. I followed the advice - and lo and behold darwinia is installed and running.

Cheers Brynster you've made me a very happy hobbit! :p
