Second Life 1.23.5 Without Sound

Hello... Not too long ago I was having major problems with Second Life crashing my entire computer and having choppy sound. I've fixed this by switching to the 64-bit Ubuntu 9.04 and upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10. Problem is, I'm having issues with sound not working... It works for a few minutes, gets choppy and buzzy and then just dies completely. However, there is no other issue besides sound.

I would really appreciate some advise. Also, I'm using the official Second Life Linux viewer and refuse to switch to any viewer not made by Linden Lab due to security reasons...

I created an artical on getting sound to work on ubuntu 64bit and 32bit. The newest openal has pulseaudio support which fixes the issues most people have with trying to get alsa emulation working and blah blah. here is the artical I wrote:
