So, i have my lovely holiday snaps on flickR and now i need to put my videos up as well... but... there is a limit of 1 min 30 sec for videos there, so after a few hours of looking I find 'mpgtx'.

Beautiful and simple.

Simply ask it to cut my mpg into halves, thirds or whatever... BUT... some of the videos are from my camera and in avi format.

The avisplit tutorials on the net achieve the video split, but the audio is choppy now. I then read that I need to use 'tcprobe' which i attempt to do, but its too advanced for my terminal skills, and now hours later, my head hurts and I'm starting to get the rage again (Urge to kill rising).

Relief comes when I find an avi program with a GUI: Avidemux, (Urge to kill falling...) but again the sound comes out horrible. (Urge to kill rising....)

What am I missing?
