Flight gear in the repository available version wont run properly, which is strange because I could run Microsucks flight simulator 2004 on the same machine (amd duron 1600, 512 ram, nvidia geforce4 64mb)
This (crappy) machine could take fs2004 on win xp, I had to set it to 12 fps and disable a lot of eye candy but it did work.
Now, Linux should take less resources than windows to stay up and running, at least thats what I've heard, and flight Gear should be lighter that fs2004.
But: when I try to run it, I can't run full screen and the only thing I get is a little window in the middle of the screen, I can't even make the window somewhat bigger, and the game will work only as long as I dont click something outside that windows, if I do it wont get back to focus, and sometimes I even have to log out to stop it.
I have tried shutting down as many programs as possible befor starting the game but it didnt help.
Any idea?
Flight siomulation is the only thing that keeps me on a windows dual boot and I would gladly switch to 100% linux if I could get flightgear to work properly....
btw, flightgear did work smoothly on windows on the same machine, so the problem could be about the nvidia drivers, I have those you get with automatix, and maybe the problem is something else I dont know, any help is welcome
