Atlas glutfonts

Hello.

I'm an user of Flightgear both in Jaunty and Karmic distros.
Atlas in Jaunty runs well, as always did, but in Karmic if I use the glutfonts option I get an empty map (with map & symbols but no text).
Without glutfonts option, text appears next to the symbols but it looks horrible.

Is there a workaround for this?
