Hello, I installed Istanbul screen session recorder.
I started a recording and when done I clicked it to stop recording.
I couldn't exit out of it because i couldn't side-click it.
So then I had to go to system monitor and force quit it.
It may have saved my recording or not, anyway - I can't find where it is.
Is there a problem with it or is it saving it to an unknown place?
Please help:KS

Can anybody help?

Same problem here. I don't really care that it freezes, as long as the video file is somewhere. I just need to know the somewhere. The bug reports here (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/istanbul/+bug/367141).

In the meantime, you could try using gtk-RecordMyDesktop.

Thanks, that's a very good alternative. I installed that and uninstalled Instanbul in one go. It produces very nice screencasts without lag at all.

For what it's worth, I've been using Ubuntu since version 6.06, and Istanbul has *never* worked. I wouldn't waste too much time on it if I were you.
