Inkscape crashes when using text boxes

Since upgrading to Karmic my Inkscape has broken. When I try to do anything with a text box I receive the error "Inkscape encountered an internal error and close now"

I've seen a couple of bugs that may be linked to this but not resolution.

Has anyone else had this problem and know how to resolve it? I'm running Inkscape 0.47 pre4.

Bump! Anyone been able to solve this, I'm missing Inkscape....

I've also posted this detail on their forum in hope for a response there.

There is a workaround to this.


unset GTK_IM_MODULE && inkscape

This should do the trick until the bug is resolved
