Which version of Ubuntu Server Edition?

I am going to install a web server for private use so that I may develop web applications on the LAMP platform. Now, which version of the Ubuntu Server would you recommend? The latest (9.10), or the LTS (8.04)?

If you want the bleedin edge, go for 9.10. If you are looking for stability, I would go for 8.04.

I personally recommend 8.04 unless you need newer versions of things like php etc.
