I live in Spain and recently bought a Tvisto USB DVB tuner which is based on the Realtek 2831u chip. It works fine under Windows but is not recognised in Ubuntu even though it appears in the Hardware Drivers list as being installed.

Any help would be appreciated as I'd rather watch TV in Ubuntu!

hey,
I don't know if it's too late for this, but here it goes:
http://metalzonix.wordpress.com/2010/05/21/instalar-drivers-rtl2831u-para-el-receptor-tdt-zaapa-en-ubuntu-10-10/
this webpage have the right instructions to install the tvisto tdt with the realtek 2831U chipset under ubuntu 10.04

I tried this and it works.
Then you can watch the tv with Kaffeine or so. The instructions are for Zaapa but it works for the Tvisto too.

Enjoy! ;)

P.D.: The webpage is in Spanish.
