View Full Version : How to install C&C Generals using Wine in Ubuntu breezy

everytime i try to execute the program to install, I get this error

1607 unable to install installshield scripting runtime.

can anyone help a nooby?? i need my dosage of generals

ok so i got it installed successfully but heres the new error i get when tryin to run the game

err:module:import_dll Library MSVCIRT.dll (which is needed by L"Z:\\home\\pnut\\generals\\game.dat") not found
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"Z:\\home\\pnut\\generals\\game.dat" failed, status c0000135
pnut@Pnut:~$ find msvcirt.dll

Google for the missing dll file. It is downloadable; but check the copyright if you want to be safe.

I can't setup my sound (kills winecfg) so I can't start generals...
Please let me know if you work it out!

well i just kinda dual booted xp so that i could have my dosage of video games. i wasnt able to get it functioning. If you were let me know so i can get a walkthru on how ya did it :)
