I need to do a backup and do a clean install to see if it will fix my issues.
Options? How much space can I get on Ubuntu One and am I able to totally delete everything from them? Also, how do I get all of the files back onto my computer?

"Back in Time" is a back-up application.
Ubuntu One has 2 gigabyte (more if you go paid). If you remove your Ubuntu install, the files in the Ubuntu One folder will still be available. If you delete the contents in the folder while Ubuntu is still on though, they'll be removed from U1. (In other words, delete Ubuntu or the Ubuntu One folder while you are *disconnected* from Ubuntu One and there won't be any changes to the contents.)
Also, are you sure you have to reinstall? Maybe we can still help out with the problem.

Aptoncd is another nice app. Although mind you that only backs up your installed applications not your data, still useful none the less.

Ouch, those are some serious problems... I'm afraid they exceed my problem-solving skills, sorry.

External hard drive is a good investment

my advice would be get an external hdd, or any spare hdd, and backup your home, important config files like sources.list, and use APTonCD to backup your cache (if its still there)...
