View Full Version : [ubuntu] XBMC noise after unpause

November 5th, 2009, 06:19 PM
Not sure how to pinpoint the culprit, so I'm starting with Ubuntu and will move if it's not in the write spot.

After upgrading my XBMC HTPC from Jaunty to Karmic, I have an odd problem. I'm using SPDIF out to my A/V receiver for audio, and whenever I pause a video with Digital audio, after unpausing I get nothing but extremely loud white noise. The noise seems to be at different frequencies depending on the bitrate/samplerate of the audio in the stream.

If I jump or fastforward the video, sound goes back to normal.

I can't find anything that I think might be helpful in any debug logs, but I may not be looking with the right lenses on. Any help would be appreciated, even if it's "Shut up, go ask ____ instead."
