i just installed wine, then succesfully got steam working, however, on my desktop now a file has appeared called "steam.lnk".
it doesn't appear to do anything or contain anything but just wanted to see if anyone knows what it is or is for before i delete it.
thanks

Wine just makes windows programs think that your ~/Desktop directory is your windows desktop, so the installer for steam tried to create the shortcut to Steam on your desktop. In windows shortcuts have a .lnk extention. You can delete this file, it doesn't do anything.
