hello pepole around the world i am a new to ubuntu
and i have a question
if there is a way that i can run on ubuntu a game tath support DirectX 10/11
and play it properly like boishock 2 with DirectX 10/11 mod
plz help me

for a summary of attempts to get it running.
Their basic approach is to install WINE, which is a Windows compatibility layer, which provides a very Windows-like file structure.
Read all the way down that page. It looks like even when they did get it running, it still crashed a lot.

For the most part it can be hit or miss depending on the application. Your best bet is just give it a go and see if it works for you.

I think the wine team only recently started work on DX 10 stuff, if you want the newest and greatest, make sure to get the development version of wine, not the 1.01 version in the ubuntu repositories. I personally haven't tried any dx 10 stuff, but I know I used to have to run wow in opengl, now it runs just as good in dx9 mode under wine.
