I'd like to suggest a new forum for ubuntuforums.org, devoted to third-party web sites' support (or lack thereof) of people using Ubuntu.

Time and time again, when I have a problem with a web site, their support blames it on the fact that I'm using Ubuntu. Sometimes this is correct, as with stupid coupon-printer software that's designed for Windows but won't run under Wine. Often, it's just a lame excuse (it doesn't work; I checked a box for an OS they don't "support"; thus it must be the OS's fault). Other times, there's a workaround, and people here are much more likely to know it.

Whaddaya think?

Like the time I got the snail-mail equivalent of spam which included a CD that was designed for Windows. I sent them an email saying that their CD wouldn't work because I use Ubuntu, not Windows. What followed was a sequence of emails where the advice their tech support people gave assumed Windows, to which I responded along the lines of "No, that won't work, I don't use Windows, I use Ubuntu." D'oh! (I didn't let on that I dual-boot with Windows)
