How can I take a screenshot of the login screen. Does shift-prt scrn work? If so, where does it put the file?

Thanks,
Randy

I could be wrong, but the only way that I know of is while running the OS in a virtual machine.

Ok, so I guess I'm out of luck.

Thanks,

What do you need it for?
If you want to, you can do it by installing Vbox, then installing Ubuntu in that, and taking a screenshot from the host OS.
I have used it this way for writing articles on installing OSes

Hi wrgb2,

As wyliecoyoteuk has mentioned it is easy enough to do with VirtualBox and I attach a screenshot to show VirtualBox and the Karmic Koala login screen...
