Why doesn't ubuntu server auto mount a CD

It's not a huge issue, but I was just wondering why exactly the server install can't automatically mount a CD when it's inserted? I know the desktop version does and figured it would be about the same thing.

The server is meant as a server, so you use a CD manually. The desktop is an entirely different concept.

The server is usually beheaded so why bother with a security risk of a CD?
